EMDR can be a powerful and effective type of trauma therapy. Trauma is considered to be anything that overwhelms the brain's ability to cope. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma from several different events in their lives. In addition I posses specific training in treating traumatic brain injuries (TBI) with EMDR.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy that helps individuals to heal from symptoms and emotional distress that are often the result of disturbing life events. Studies have shown that EMDR can create benefits that once took years to accomplish in regular psychotherapy. EMDR therapy has proven that people can heal from psychological trauma the same way as they can from physical trauma.

EMDR has been found to be a powerful type of psychotherapy that helps individuals of all ages relieve many types or trauma and distress.  EMDR can help treattraumapersonality disorders, panic attacks, complicated grief, dissociative disorders, disturbing memories, phobias, performance anxiety, stress reduction, addictions, sexual and physical abuse, traumatic brain injuries, pain disorders, and more.
